Outdoor picnics have always been the tradition in my family filled with good people and tasty food. It's casual and relaxing way for us to show our love and gratitude. Our need to take a breath and have fun. Enjoy the peace and quiet. So we headed to Sendang Ayu Restaurant and Fishing Spot Jogjakarta.

Located strategically on Jalan Jogja - Solo km 15, Sendang Ayu is offering the special dish of freshwater fishes. My impression when I entered this place, oh wow is so big and truly accomodate more visitor on special occasions like birthday party, reunion, arisan and breaking the fast together. The unique experience, we feel like back to the nature because this restaurant has a great lesehan area, the gazebos made of bamboo, and the natural atmosphere surrounded by fishing spot with clean water. So you can see the fresh fish in alive condition.

Orion Mandarijn Solo

I can't live without baked goods. Cookies, cakes, doughnuts, chocolate, and bread. So a search for the bakery shop had me excited.


If you've ever heard of 'Roti Mandarin' it's mean you definitely know Orion Mandarijn bakery shop Solo. Orion Mandarijn bakery shop is famous for their 'Roti Mandarin' and for a good reason. The most popular 'Roti Mandarin' served here and the shop has a beautiful old-fashioned look. The display case packed with exquisite pastries and cookies in perfect rows. Bakpia, pie susu, gudeg, ampyang, many kinds of sambal, and many more. Ah, yes... They has such a variety of products.

Visit a Sunday Market - Surabaya Town Square

Everyone loves to find vintage clothes and accesories to wear or unique furniture to decorate their room. And why something unique and vintage become so popular ??? Because it's more fun when we shop, nobody else owns or can wear the same. And it's only to be found at The Vintage Store or Thrift-Store. (You must also read Pasar Barang Antik Triwindu Solo )

• There's an awesome and display of everybody's favourite.
• The clothes are well organized and divided by decade and size.
• We'll see vintage pieces mixed in with the name brands.
• We could get a piece of decent quality at there more cheaper than what we had pay for the same at the big store.
• If we lucky, we'll find great deals on shoes that look almost new.

Actually I didn't almost all my shopping at The Vintage Store or Thrift-Store even I realized that sometimes the stuffs from The Vintage Store or Thrift-Store be better than stuffs from other store listed. I just love to digging around in a pile to find some fabulous cute-antique stuff, and keeping an eye out to buy something priceless clothes to add to my wardrobe. But I'm shy of haggling for a better price so I need a friend for that.

My friend Ira and I have lots of things in common, including our love of thrift store. I clearly remember the day when we walked into a Sunday Market at Surabaya Town Square with the intention of finding the vintage stuff for cheap. We were walked around, we had been looking for clothes and skirts, touched a few clothes, run our hands along the clothes to feel them, picked up one or two, and finally walked out with empty handed, lol. So confused, there are so many things that we want. They have everything for sale, lol. 

But i swear, no matter how valuable or glamorous the modern, the antique and vintage stuff always simply special :)

Marakez Cafe & Resto Solo

Bravo... I'm truly happy and so blessed. My schedule for Middle Eastern Food was done well, pretty much like always. We had an unforgotable dinner. The quality and variety of Middle Eastern Food at Marakez Cafe & Resto Solo was simple but makes the food very tasty. For us dining at Marakez is not only about the culinary experience, it's also about exploring something different. Trying some popular dishes in Egyph.

When me and my husband entered into Marakez Cafe & Resto, we were first impressed by the simple decor with easy listening music. We feels comfort. Then not for long time, we ordered never-before-tried menu by their recommended for make us easy, lol.

• Umm Ali

This Egypthian Bread Pudding consists of bread pieces, vanilla, raisins, and cream. Similar with Indonesian Bread Pudding. The different is just the milk were used. Indonesian Bread Pudding use condensed milk but Egypthian Bread Pudding use spiced milk. The combination between sweet from vanilla and cream, and savory from spiced milk. Well, in my opinion, sweet and savory in one package not suitable taste for Indonesian, huhuu. So you could getting the balance just right if you want to try this.

• Al-Khabsa and Al-Mandhi

The Famous Traditional Egyph food. In Egyph, these food is usually a tribute to fine dining for the guests that was made by Basmati Indian rice, barbequed lamb, and pickling cucumbers. Then serve with a fresh salad. It was also interesting to learn that this food suitable in another countries like Indonesia. I think that's also acceptable for public consumption as food lunch or dinner, but not for breakfast of course, lol. Loved by all people who's had a chance to taste it. 

• Ma'shoub

It has the one that are most easily acceptable for everyone, whether they were tourists or foreigners. So cute and colorful.

So... let make up your own taste and be a big fan of Middle Eastern Food... :)

Oh La Vita Resto Solo

To most people, the real "Italiano" means Pasta or Pizza, and identic with the higher price. We must paid a lot of money for an expensive Italian Cuisine, right ???


But all the people knows that Solo is a wonderful city full of so many options for foodie's to find a restaurant with inexpensive priced, including Italian Cuisine. One of them is Oh La Vita  Resto.

Pizza is delicious but may sounds so bored, i think you must try a sweet pizza that actually different and yummy. So for the third times here, we could never forget to keeps on Pizza Crepes as our-neverbored-menu, lol. Ordering this Pizza has become a bit of tradition when we are at Oh La Vita Resto to save the appetizer for our dinner.


I'm talking an appetizer Pizza swimming on chocolate. Pizza is yummy and chocolate is even more tasty, it only make senses to mix them together. Yap... the visual of this Pizza didn't like others Pizza, but seems like Crepes ; crispy, chewy, and super-thin. So my husband love to named it Pizza Crepes or Pancake Pizza. In fact, the real name is Choco Mia Pizza. Somehow this just not as yummy as my imagination had for you, until you try it self.

However, we wanted meals that wasn't complicated. So, Chicken Cordon Bleu and Onion Ring was the other meals as main menu we order here. And when i ate this simple Chicken Cordon Bleu, i thought the taste was not surprising me, just nice but not really delicious as the chicken cordon bleu i've had on my wedding.

Not long after, five minutes later, we've got sweet-delicious little cup of strawberry-vanilla ice cream. I love it everything happens, heheee...

A plate of nice Chicken Cordon Bleu, our favorite Choco Mia Pizza, super crunchy Onion Ring, Lemon Tea, and a little cup of Ice Cream were a welcomed site after a long time we are not spending times for dinner here. A night that we'll never forget ~

Excelso Coffee

I recently wrote about me and my husband's relationship with Coffee. At this time, i want to share with you, the others Coffee experience when we were young, lol. Three or four or five times when we spent our coffee times. 

Excelso was one of our favorite Coffee Cafe while enjoying our coffee time and the place where we can found the superior quality coffee beans. This place does everything-blend, bag, grind and serve the fabolous coffee. The part of the cafe at Indoor Area or Outdoor Area always looks like bright, comfortable, and having a luxurious atmosphere. Perfect place for Sosialita when they have 'rumpi' meeting or business person when they have group meeting.

We as their customers only need to read the book menus or ask their friendly Baristas what their recommended menu for that day. They serves fabolous coffee like many kinds of type Indonesian Coffee, cold drink like Ice Caramel Cappuccino, Ice Cafe Latte, and Ice Cafe Mocha, soft drink, and some juices. They also sold best meal like Croissant, Sandwiches, French Fries, and Seafood Sampler.

Of course, the price tag reflected their best serves hohohooo.  So Happy Weekend, Folks :)

For many people, their coffee is an indispensable part of their day. My husband too, lol. He had a very intimate relationship with Black Coffee because coffee helps him focus. So after married, making coffee at home is a part of my morning routine. 

I'm not a coffee lover actually. I just loves to drink ice coffee. Me and my husband often to spend times on weekend at Starbucks Coffee Store and there are more reasons for that.

Salmon Steak Marinated at Ninety-Nine Bistro & Terrace Surabaya

I love steak. I want the best that my money could buy based on quality beef, geographic location, and of course the portion size, lol. Okaay, let me tell you something about one of the best Salmon Steak.

My favorite steak shop in Surabaya is Ninety-Nine Bistro & Terrace. They have good quality beef, located nearby my Kost, and the portion size is more than enough for my little tummy, lol. This steak shop are usually part of Ranch Market ICBC Center Surabaya.

The place seems little but comfortable and full of warmth sensation, near with a Bar and Wine Boutique. I had to go to their cooling machine to order the steak than i choose their recommended Salmon Steak Marinated. Medium done with taste good and premium price. They turned out exceptionally good, tasty, and touch of sweetness. The marinade ; a blend of fish sauce, chile sauce, garlic, and olive oil, really brings out the delicious flavor and makes the Marinated Salmon perfectly. Prepared fresh by their Chef. 

Salmon is delicious but Marinated Salmon is even better. This is a delicious Salmon Steak Marinated that everyone will Love. Forget about the blur pict and let's eat them, yum :)

EATernity Solo

Me and My Husband love eating out, sitting down for a dinner, and especially love finding cafe or restaurant with great food and great interior design. We want to make every meal count. We want to eat 'well' as often as possible. Eat not only just to show off but also memorable and genuine discovery. 

The condition nowadays are tottaly different. For some people eating habits have also changed from Traditional Indonesian Food to Western Products like Pasta or Pizza. But i feel that all food really does taste better when the interior design from the resto where we eat is as good as the food. And Eaternity is one of the middle grade restaurant with middle high price and having good interior design in Solo.

Eaternity have the best of Indonesian Food like Mie Atjeh, American Food like Strip Loin Blackpepper Steak, and Italian Food like Homemade Pasta and Pizza. Many kind Waffle as their best meal and Mojito as their best 'slurp' down rich drink.

New Es Krim Tentrem Solo

I haven't managed to quit my obssesion with ice cream and actually i've never ever tried, lol. My own adventures in ice cream always continue. Why would I ? First, ice cream is one of mood booster that every woman should have and really does make us happy. Second, it has been very hot weather :p

Yesterday hot afternoon, me and my husband were going to the local cafetaria, New Es Krim Tentrem. This is the one and only place in Solo where i can find the magic of ice cream and the story behind that. Located in the heart of Solo City, near with Ngarsopuro and Pasar Triwindu, Es Krim Tentrem was popular since the decades ago, was closed for several years and now they attended with their green concept. Two-storey building with so many tree decoration, colourful wall on it, and variant menu like Juice, Shakes and Coffee. Lovable place for reunion, birthday party, or just hanging out. 

We were ordered Pastello (IDR 22K) and Casablanca (IDR 19K) as their recommended and special menu. Pastello has four flavours from four different ice cream : grapes, melon, strawberry, and kopyor, with corn flakes and sweet candy on it. And Casablanca is lychee ice cream with cocktail fruit and choco waffle. All of these was served with a little glass of mineral water. Heavenly taste with good price. Yummyyyy...

Cause ice cream is not only just for summer, xoxoxo...
